At the 2300hrs position report last night, the radio relay vessel Ada Hardy reported gusts over 40 knots. Not long after the sked report, Steve Proud's Sydney 38 Swish suddenly found itself foundering without steerage in 20 knots of breeze after the skin fell off their rudder.
